In the brilliant light of spring this West Coast trawler's last days are spent tied to an old dock on the Alouette River. Having survived the swells and spray of Pacific Ocean waters and having born the indignity of houseboat conversion, she now wears garlands of moss, necklaces of rust and a garment of peeling paint as she slowly succumbs to the elements.
Slowly Succumbing to the Elements was awarded 1st Place for Excellence for Original Design Realistic Pictorial Wallquilt at the Canadian Quilters' Association 2012 National Juried Show in Halifax.
